An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join an enthusiastic and friendly service with a focus on quality improvements and high performance. We offer flexible and family friendly working conditions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Management and provision of timely and accurate clinical coding data
- Participation in an ongoing coding auditing program with a focus on coding quality and maximizing health services revenue
- Support of the collection and reporting of data used in clinical indicators
- Participation in clinician education on casemix funding, coding and documentation standards
- Ensuring adequate control of all clinical records in correspondence with Legislation
Essential requirements:
- Proven ability to work autonomously to achieve deadlines
- Demonstrated organizational/time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Effective communication skills both written and oral
- Up to date knowledge, experience and practice using ICD-10-AM
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards
- Bachelor of HIM or the completion of HIMAA ICD-10-AM coding course
